Sweet potatoes aren’t just tasty; they also contain nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin E and potassium that are good for oral health.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sweet potato with skin removed, cubed
  • 1 16-ounce can chickpeas, drained
  • ½ small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Juice from ½ lime
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Fill a pot with enough water to cover the sweet potato and bring to a boil. Add sweet potato and boil for 8-10 minutes or until soft. Remove from heat and drain water. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until well-combined. Use a spoon to scoop out 1/5 of the mixture and form it into a patty with your hands. Place on a baking tray covered with parchment paper. Repeat process for the remaining mixture. Place baking tray with 5 patties into the oven and bake for 30-50 minutes or until slightly golden brown and firm. Enjoy with your favorite toppings!
